Designing a next-generation investing experience focused on simplifying complex trading decisions, improving real-time feedback, and building a scalable foundation for advanced financial workflows.
Overview
This work centers on evolving U.S. Bank’s investing platform to better support both emerging and experienced investors. The focus has been on clarifying high-stakes decision moments, reducing cognitive load in trading flows, and aligning product strategy with the realities of real-time data, compliance, and system constraints.

My role & scope.
As the lead product designer on this initiative, I’ve been responsible for:
Driving end-to-end experience strategy across key trading interactions
Partnering closely with product, engineering, and compliance
Shaping platform patterns that balance speed, clarity, and risk
Designing for real-time data behaviors in regulated environments
Trading Interaction flows.
While specific visuals are under NDA, the work has focused on:
Trade entry & confirmation flows
State changes driven by real-time market data
Error prevention and recovery in high-risk actions
Progressive disclosure for advanced trading options
A core emphasis has been ensuring that users understand what’s happening, what can change, and what actions are reversible before committing capital.

What’s Coming next.
This work is actively evolving. A full public case study—including flows, artifacts, and outcomes is planned once the platform ships and NDA restrictions are lifted.
Target: Late 2026
Until then, I’m happy to discuss:

Designing in this space has reinforced the importance of restraint, system thinking, and designing for uncertainty especially when real money is involved.
